better to do local A/L in English medium as you can enter to both local and foreign universities and cost effective too.
Hi,
You cannot say one is useful than the other. All depends on WHERE you want to do your higher studies.
If you wish to go abroad for your further studies you definitely need London A/L and if you wish to study in a local University you need local A/L.
I hope I answered you question.
I prefer London Advanced Level than any other.
Depends on the requirement. But those who planning to go further , I would suggest Local AL. because it gives comprehensive knowledge. London AL is very easy. getting A's is not a big matter
It depends on students' expectations.
It Depends on the context. question can be formulated more specifically such as Medium of Language, Examination boards (Edexcel, Cambridge, AQA, OCR etc.)
Can't compare the number of attempts or medium with regional z-scores for local Unis. Locally standardization is justified, Edexcel permits discrimination(Pearson and Salters and Nuffield) For Science, Practical option is there for Cambridge it's mandatory. Ideals of local philosophy is high but it's outdated with the access to knowledge and technology (Internet). Are we still testing what the student learnt or did not learn? Are we positively selecting or Eliminating the vast numbers for limited spaces in the Universities?
It depends on what you want to do and what you can do. If you do the London syllabus, you can't work for the government, you'll have to make do with private workplaces, or go abroad. It's easier to get into a university abroad if you have enough money. If you do the Local syllabus, you can work for the government, but going to the university is difficult as you may know. As for the difficulty, neither is easier than the other. You can also consider taking the Local exam in English medium if you are very fluent in English and confident that you can do it.
Not the Govt. AL or London but the result is more useful and important.
It depends on your financial stability, your ambition in life, age and hard work in achieving your goal. If you have everything above, I can suggest London A/L which has an international recognition and it may lead you to enter a foreign University. Foreign University education is also a costly affair. Wish you a successful future
government A/L
I am thinking about doing Cambridge A level after doing local O level. Is it ok to do so? Will it be difficult for me?
What is the difference between local and London ALs and what do you think has the upper hand. Thank you
