ලෝකෙ පුරාම ජාත්‍යන්තර විශය නිර්දේශ ගණනාවක් තියෙනවා. කේම්බ්‍රිජ් (Cambridge), එඩෙක්සෙල් (Edexcel), සැට් (SAT), අයි බී (IB) සහ ඕ සී ආර් (OCR) මේ අතර ප්‍රධානයි. මෙයින් ලංකාවේ මූලිකව ම භාවිතා වෙන්නෙ කේම්බ්‍රිජ් සහ එඩෙක්සෙල්.
එතකොට ඇයි මේ ලන්ඩන් එග්සෑම් (London exams) කියන්නේ ?
දැන් එඩෙක්සෙල් යනුවෙන් හඳුන්වන විභාගය පටන් ගත්තෙ ලන්ඩන් විශ්ව විද්‍යාලෙන්. පස්සෙ ඒ විභාග පැවැත්වීමේ අයිතිය 'පියර්සන් එඩෙක්සෙල්' (Pearson Edexcel)කියන සමාගමට විකුනුවා. ඒ නිසා ලන්ඩන් විභාග කියන්නේ වර්තමාන 'එඩෙක්සෙල්' විභාග වලට කියලා කියන්න පුළුවන්.
මේවාට තියෙන පිළිගැනීම කොහොමද?
මේ දෙකම ලංකාවේ ඉතා ජනප්‍රිය ජාත්‍යන්තර විභාග. බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය කේන්ද්‍ර කරගත් විභාග නිසා පොදුරාජ්‍ය මණ්ඩලයේ රටවල ඉහල පිළිගැනීමක් තියෙනවා. උදාහරණයකට යුරෝපා රටවල්, කැනඩාව, ඔස්ට්‍රේලියාව ගන්න පුලුවන් . නමුත් ඇමෙරිකාවට යන්න නම් SAT වගේ විභාගයක් තමා වඩාත් ඉවහල් වෙන්නෙ.

ඉස්සර පිළිගැනීමක් තිබුණා එඩෙක්සෙල් කියන්නේ 'ලේසි' විභාගයක් කේම්බ්‍රිජ් තමා අමාරු කියලා. නමුත් 2018 විශය නිර්දේශ වෙනස්වීමෙන් පස්සෙ මේ දෙකේ ඒ තරම් ලොකු වෙනසක් දකින්න නෑ. සරළව, ජීව විද්‍යාව (Biology) ගත්තොත් එඩෙක්සෙල් වල අහන්නෙ බොහොම විවෘත ප්‍රශ්න. උදාහරණයකට ප්‍රස්තාරයක් දීලා ' මේ ප්‍රස්තාරය විශ්ලේෂණය කරන්න' වගේ ඒවා. ඉතින් ළමයා ට පුළුවන් වෙන්න ඕනෑ ඒකෙ හොඳ, නරක, නොගැලපන තැන්, වගේ හැම දෙයක්ම හොයා ගන්න . නමුත් කේම්බ්‍රිජ් ප්‍රශ්න ඊට වඩා කෙලින් අහන, සාපේක්ෂව කෙටි ප්‍රශ්න. නමුත් ඒ නිසාම කේම්බ්‍රිජ් සිලබස් එක ටිකක් ලොකුයි.
නමුත් එඩෙක්සෙල් වල වාසිය තමා ඕනෑ තරම් කාලයක් විභාගය අද්දන්න හැකි වීම. එඩෙක්සෙල් ඒ ලෙවෙල් විභාගෙට ප්‍රශ්න පත්‍ර 6 ක් තියෙනවා. ඒ ප්‍රශ්න පත්‍ර හය අවුරුදු හයක් තිස්සෙ අවුරුද්දකට එක ගානෙ කලත්, අවුරුදු හය අවසානෙ සහතිකය හම්බ වෙන්නෙ එක පාර ලිව්ව විදියට. නමුත් කාලය නාස්තිය සහ මුදල් වැයවෙන එක වැඩියි අවුරුදු ගානක් විභාගය කලොත්. කේම්බ්‍රිජ් එක්ක ඒ සෙල්ලම් බෑ.
ඒ වගේම තමයි එඩෙක්සෙල් වල විශයයන් වෙනම කරන්න පුලුවන් . උදාහරණයකට කව්රුහරි chemistry, physics, biology කියන විශය තුන කරලා physics ෆේල් උනොත්, එයාට පුලුවන් physics පේපර් එකට විතරක් ඊළඟ පාර ලියලා අර කලින් සැරවල අනිත් විශයන්ට ලැබුණු ප්‍රථිඵලත් එක්ක එකතු කරලා අවසාන සහතිකය ගන්න. නමුත් කේම්බ්‍රිජ් ඒකට ඉඩ දෙන්නෙ නෑ. ඒ වගේ අවස්ථාවක්දි ඔබ නැවතත් විශය තුනම කළ යුතු වෙනවා.

කලින් කිව්වා වගේ උසස් පෙළට එඩෙක්සෙල් නම් විද්‍යා විශයකට ප්‍රශ්න පත්‍ර 6 ක් හෝ කේම්බ්‍රිජ් නම් ප්‍රශ්න පත්‍ර 5 ක් තියෙනවා . මෙයින් පලවෙනි ප්‍රශ්න පත්‍ර තුනට අදාල විශය පළවෙනි අවුරුද්දෙ කරලා ඉවර කරනවා. ඉතින් කාටහරි ඕනෙනම් පලවෙනි අවුරුද්දට පස්සෙ ඒ ප්‍රශ්න පත්තර තුනට ලියන්න පුලුවන් . ඒකට කියන්නේ AS (Adavance subsidiary) කියලා. ඉතිරි දෙක ඊලඟ අවුරුද්දෙ ලියන්න පුලුවන්. තව සමහරු අවුරුදු දෙකම ඉගෙනගෙන පේපර් පහම එකපාර ලියනවා. එඩෙක්සෙල් කරන ළමයින් ට නම් මේ ප්‍රශ්න පත්‍ර පවා වෙන වෙනම කරන්න පුලුවන් උනත් කේම්බ්‍රිජ් ළමයින්ට තියෙන්නෙ විභාගය දෙකට කඩලා කිරීමේ හැකියාව විතරයි.

* විභාග කල් යන්නෙ නෑ
* කේම්බ්‍රිජ් විභාග අවුරුද්දට දෙපාරක් සහ එඩෙක්සෙල් විභාග අවුරුද්දකට තුන් පාරක් තියෙනවා. එක පාරක් ලකුණු මදිනම් ඊළඟ අවුරුද්ද වෙනකම් බලන් ඉන්න ඕනෙ නෑ.
* රජයේ විභාග වලට වඩා සිලබස් එක පොඩියි. ඒ නිසා පාඩම් කරන්න තියෙන්න ප්‍රමාණය අඩුයි. නමුත් ඒකෙන් අදහස් කරගන්න එපා විභාග ලේසියි කියලා.
* ඉකමනින් විශ්ව විද්‍යාල ප්‍රවේශය ලබා ගන්න පුළුවන්. උසස් පෙළට වයස් සීමාවක් නැති නිසා වයස 16 දී බොහෝ දෙනා උසස් පෙළ ලියනවා. මාස තුනෙන් ප්‍රතිඵල එනවා. තව මාස තුනක් ඇතුලත විශ්ව විද්‍යාලෙකට යන්නත් පුලුවන් .
අවාසි
* රජයේ විශ්ව විද්‍යාල වලට යන්න බෑ. පිටරට හෝ මෙරට මුදල් ගෙවා කරන උසස් අද්‍යාපනයකට තමා ඉඩ ලැබෙන්නේ . නමුත් ඉතා විශිෂ්ට ප්‍රතිඵල වලට සම්පූර්ණ හෝ අර්ධ මූල්‍ය සහන දීමට බොහෝ විශ්ව විද්‍යාල කැමතියි (හැබැයි මෙඩිකල් ෆැකල්ටි සාමාන්‍යයෙන් මෙහෙම ආධාර කරන්නෙ නෑ).
වියදම කොහොමද? (2024 පෙබරවාරි මිල ගණන්)
කේම්බ්‍රිජ් ඕ ලෙවල් විශයකට සාමාන්‍යයෙන් 40 000/- පමණ යනවා. ඒ ලෙවල් විද්‍යා විශයකට රුපියල් 65 000/- පමණත් වානිජ විශයකට රුපියල් 40 000/- පමණත් යනවා.
එඩෙක්සෙල් ඕ ලෙවල් විශයකට 30 000/- පමණත් උසස් පෙළ විශයකට 85 000/- පමණත් යනවා. උසස් පෙළට මේ ගාන යන්නෙ අර මුලින්ම කීවා වගේ ප්‍රශ්න පත්‍ර හයටම. නමුත් බොහෝවිට අපි ඒක දෙකට කඩලයි කරන්නෙ .
ඒ ලෙවෙල් කරන්න ඕ ලෙවල් පාස් වෙන්න ඕනෙද?
නෑ. කාටහරි උවමනා නම් සාමාන්‍ය පෙළ නොකර උසස් පෙළ කරන්න ඒත් කරන්න පුලුවන් . ඒ වගේම තමයි කලින් කියපු විදියට අවම වයස් සීමාවකුත් නෑ.
අවම විශයයන් මොනවාද?
එහෙම අනිවාර්ය විශය කියලා දෙයක් මේ විභාග වල නෑ. සාමාන්‍යයෙන් සාමාන්‍ය පෙළ විශය 5-8 අතර ගණනකුත්, උසස් පෙළ විශය 3-4 අතරත් ළමයි කරනවා. තමා කරන විශය ධාරාව වානිජ ද විද්‍යාව ද කියලත් බෙදීමක් නැති උනත් බොහෝ පාසල් වල සාමාන්‍ය පෙළින්ම ඒක තීරණය කරනවා. විද්‍යා විශයන් සාමාන්‍ය පෙළ දීම Bio, Physics , Chemistry කියලා බෙදලා වෙන වෙනම විශයයන් විදියටයි තියෙන්නෙ.
උසස් පෙළ විශයයන් තෝරාගැනීම නම් කළ යුත්තේ යන්න බලාපොරොත්තු වෙන විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ සහ තමන් කරන්න බලාපොරොත්තු වෙන උපාධියේ අවශ්‍යතාවය අනුවයි. සාමාන්‍යයෙන් වෛද්‍ය ක්ශේත්‍රයෙ උපාධියකට Physics, Chemistry, Biology තිබුණොත් ඇති. නමුත් සාමාන්‍ය විද්‍යා උපාධියක් සඳහා ගණිතයත් ඇතුළුව විශයන් හතරකට A සාමාර්ථ ගන්න පුලුවන්නම් විශ්ව විද්‍යාල වලින් ශිෂ්‍යත්ව ලබා දීමට ඇති ප්‍රවණතාවය වැඩියි. මේ නිසා බොහෝ දෙනෙක් ගණිතයත් ඇතුළුව විශයන් හතරක් කරනවා. ඉන්ජිනේරු ධාරාවෙන් යන්න ඉන්න අයනම් ගණිතයත් එක්ක 'Advanced Mathematics' කරනවා. නමුත් මේ කිසිම විශයක් කරන්නම ඕනෙ කියලා නියමයක් නෑ. ඒක තීරණය කරන්න ඕනේ තමුන්ගේ අවශ්‍යතාවය අනුවයි.

I am currently doing my A/Ls in the Edexcel curriculum (2024). I want to sit for the Local A/L ICT exam in(2025). Is it possible to apply and do a single subject as a private candidate for the first time?

I am a 2016 A/L student
I studied from 2014 to 2016 February in a school out of my district.
For a personal reason, I returned to my village and I registered in a school which is near to our village but in that school there are no teachers to teach my stream. They said the teachers will come soon, but still there are no teachers.
Because of that I am not going to sit for A/L this year.
How can I do my A/L exam as a private candidate? If I do A/L as a private candidate, Can I go to government universities?

Went to a Colombo school to do my A/Ls
Did 1st shy in 2015 from Colombo
Did 2nd shy in 2016 from Colombo
Planning to do my 3rd shy this year 2017
Since I am a resident of Gampaha will I be able to apply my district as
Gamapaha? Or will it still be Colombo to which my z score is calculated

period and are they allowed to apply for a fourth attempt?
My son got sick and he is suffering from fever and he is doing his

My question is, due to a private concern I cannot sit for the exam this year so if I sit for the exam next year will it be displayed as my first attempt or second attempt?
