1. Have a Recognized Degree
• You have a Mass Communication degree – eligible to teach Media Studies, Civic Education, or related subjects.
2. Watch for Teacher Vacancies
• Check the Government Gazette and Ministry of Education website for job notices.
• Also check with Provincial Councils and Zonal Education Offices.
3. Apply When Vacancies Are Announced
• Submit required documents (degree results, A/L, O/L, NIC, etc.).
• May require interview or competitive exam depending on the subject.
4. Optional – Get Professional Training
• You can apply for a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) to improve your qualifications.
• Offered by National Institute of Education (NIE) or universities.
5. Start as a Temporary or Voluntary Teacher
• Visit your Zonal Education Office to apply for temporary teaching while waiting for permanent vacancies.
I believe you need to apply provincial level.

උපාධිධාරීන් රජයේ ගුරු සේවයට බඳවා ගැනීමේ ගැසට් නිවේදනයන්ට අදාලව ඔබ අධ්‍යයනය කළ උපාධියට අදාල විෂය සඳහා අයදුම් කළ හැකියි. (ජාතික පාසල් සහ පළාත් වශයෙන් දෙයාකාරයකින් බඳවා ගනී.)
බඳවා ගැනීමේ තරඟ විභාගයෙන් සමත් වූවන් සම්මුඛ පරීක්ෂණ සඳහා කැඳවීමෙන් පසු එයින් සමත් වූවන් රජයේ ගුරු සේවයට බඳවා ගනී.
රජයේ ගුරු සේවයට සම්බන්ධ වීමට උපාධි ගුරුවරුන් බදවා ගැනීම සදහා කලින් කලට පවත්වන විභාග සදහා පෙනි සිට ඉන් සමත් වී සම්මුඛ පරීක්ෂණයෙන් ද සමත් විය යුතුය.
