school in the following capacity.
Visual Arts Assistant Teacher (Reports to : Visual Arts Teachers)
Summary
The Visual Arts Assistant Teacher gives support to the learning process
in the classroom and is under the direct supervision of the subject
teacher.
Duties and Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to
the following:
- Support children individually or in small groups and
reinforce concepts presented by the teacher.
- Support the Visual Art Teachers in establishing effective
rules and routines within the classroom.
- Support the wider implementation of school rules in a
manner consistent with the OSC philosophy.
- Become familiar with the school curriculum and day to day
running of the school.
- Setup and cleanup lesson materials, bulletin board displays
and exhibitions.
- Organize and label materials, and display student work
professionally.
- Ensure the class/store room are kept tidy and in order.
- Proficient use of technology, specifically: photo software,
on-line ordering and purchasing platforms.
- Mounting and displaying student work.
- Ensuring that student work on display is changed regularly.
- Getting photos and materials ready for portfolios /
exhibitions.
Communication:
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Communicate clearly, openly and honestly with teachers.
- Handle all matters pertaining to children, parents and
staff in a professional and confidential manner
