The Amaliya Early Learning Centre at Amaliya Foundation is looking for
two highly motivated A/L qualified teachers or degree holders for
training at Chennai's Balavidyalaya Institute for Teacher Training.
Upon completion of the Diploma for Teaching Young Deaf Hearing impaired
the teachers will teach students as well as train additional teachers
for a minimum period of three years at Amaliya Early Learning Centre
for hearing impaired children, set up by the foundation in
The training period will be from June to May . A monthly
stipend to cover travel and living as well as course fees and material
will be provided. The ideal candidate will be A/L qualified, fluent in
English and Sinhala/Tamil and below years. Fluency in all three
languages will be an added advantage.
The primary goal of the program is to help hearing impaired children
(age months - years) acquire age appropriate verbal language skills
and readiness skills in reading and writing required to integrate them
into grade in a regular school by the time they are or years old.
