The founder of Negombo South International School is Dr. A.K.Paul Perera who started the school from 20 children and 4 teachers on 4th January 1998 . The school has grown up to 3500 children studying London and Local examinations and with a record staff of about 225 lady teachers and 10 male teachers. This is one of the biggest international schools in Sri Lanka. He had been a lecture in chemistry having his Chemistry degree from the Colombo university and Ph.D. from U.S.A. He had produced thousands of doctors, engineers, graduates, teachers, lectures, technologists and so many educated personals within the period of 30 years of his educational career.

Negombo South International School Piliyandala branch was started on 4th September 2006 as the 1st branch school of the school network having the intention to spread the services of the school to the other areas.
