Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced English Support Skills Teacher
to join William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT. The ideal candidate will
passionate about education and have experience in language teaching.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality
teaching and facilitating students to practice their English Language
Skills.
Responsibilities:
- Plan lessons and create relevant material that will be
suitable for all students who display various language strengths.
- Design creative lessons that are engaging and enhances the
overall knowledge of the students.
- Monitor student development by maintaining records through
written classroom reports.
- Create a positive and engaging language learning
environment in the classroom that facilitates language practice for
every student.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students to support
their academic and personal development.
- Be resourceful and coordinate with other department members
when required to ensure that the objectives of teaching are met.
- Participate in professional development activities to
enhance teaching skills and knowledge of the hospitality industry.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades,
and progress within the given timelines.
- Support and coordinate with the Professional Skills
Teachers to plan, develop and execute supporting courses.
- As required consult and communicate with other academic
staff members regarding the professional development of students.
- Associate all staff members and students in a professional
and confidential manner.
- Participate in academic meetings and committees as required.
Requirements:
- Must hold a Diploma in English and/or English Language
Teaching qualification from a recognized institute (Ex - CELTA).
- Must possess minimum two years of experience in English
Language Teaching to preferably Young Adults / Adults.
- Have Excellent English Speaking and Writing Skills.
- Should be Creative and Open to Different Teaching Styles.
- Excellent and Communication Skills.
- Ability to Work Collaboratively with Faculty and Staff from
Diverse Backgrounds and Cultures.
- Proficient in the use of technology, online collaboration
and multimedia resources will be advantageous.
