Recruitment for the posts of English Instructor
With the view to enhancing the basic communication skills of the
trainees undergoing the vocational training at our training centers
island-wide, the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka (VTASL) is
looking for dynamic and skillful English Instructors for the vacancies
existing the the VTA Centers. Hence, applications are hereby invited
from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens to fill such vacancies.
The above vacancies exist in the following Districts and National
Vocational Training Institutes (NVTI):

Anuradhapura

Qualifications:
i. Completion of a Bachelor's Degree with English as a subject, from a
University recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka
(UGC) with one (01) year teaching experience in English Language.
OR
ii. Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in English medium, from a
University recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka
(UGC) with one (01) year teaching experience in English Language.
OR
iii. Completion of Higher National Diploma in English (HNDE) from Sri
Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE), with two
(02) years of English Teaching experience.
OR
iv. Having obtained a certificate in English course on the fifth level
(05) of the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) issued by an
Institute recognzied by the Tertiary and Vocational Education
Commission with two (02) years of English Teaching experience.
- Age: Should not be less than 18 years and not more than 45
years; The maximum age limit will not be applicable for the applicants
who are currently serving the public sector. (Applicants of those who
retired from the service would be considered for appointment on
visiting basis).
- Salary and other allowances: Not less than Rs 42,000/- per
month. The above posts are entitled to the Employee Provident Fund
(EPF) and Employers Trust Fund (ETF)
- Method of recruitment: Through an open competitive
examination and/or a structured interview as decided by the Board of
Directors of the institute and the appointing authority.
- Method of applying: A self-prepared application
with a comprehensive bio-data including contact details, preferred
district and two non-related referees should be sent to the given below
address via registered post. The post applied Post of English
Instructor, along with the District applying for should be clearly
stated on the top left-hand corner of the envelope. Applicants who are
currently working in public sector organizations should
forward their applications through the heads of the institutions /
departments. Candidates who wish to apply for more than one district
should apply separately for each district. Applications which do not
conform to the above requirements / incomplete applications
or applications received after the closing date will be rejected.
Closing date for the applications: Applications should be sent on or
before 10th April 2018
