ZOA has been operating in Sri Lanka for the past years, first in
relief and rehabilitation, and more recently in facilitating
longer-term, sustainable socio-economic development initiatives in the
North and the East. In the last few years, ZOA has also worked closely
with refugees from Pakistan, Afghanistan and elsewhere, who are fleeing
political violence and persecution in their homelands.
Hiring : English Teacher (Part time) for ZOA Refugee Centre in Negombo

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, dedicated individual who will
conduct English classes for adult refugee students ( years of age and
above) on a part-time basis. Remuneration can be negotiated on an
hourly or daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct English classes on a part-time basis
* Employ innovative, creative and accepted teaching methods and
techniques
* Prepare detailed lesson plans, handouts and monthly outcome and
analysis reports.
* Closely monitor the progress of all students and actively address
impediments to progress
* Conduct and mark placement tests and assign students to course level,
as appropriate
* Conduct and mark periodic evaluations and exams
* Develop and maintain good relationships with ZOA staff and
stakeholders
* Support ZOA's larger mandate and vision for refugee communities
* Actively engage, coordinate and create linkages with other education
actors among the refugee community.
Experience and skills required:
* Qualification in CELTA, TEFL or TESOL
* At least one year experience (Diploma-level) teaching English as a
second language
* Experience in general administration
* Fluency in English (Knowledge of Urdu, Tamil and Sinhala would be an
added advantage)
Hiring : ICT Teacher (part-time) for ZOA Refugee Centre in Negombo
