We are seeking to employ energetic and experienced Nursery/ Montessori Teachers to join our School.
You will help to develop curriculum for the different age groups and implement lesson plans throughout the school day, including small group rotations. Our program boasts a low child-to-teacher ratio and individualized care to ensure all our children learn at their own pace.
We prefer candidates who have a background in early childhood developmental education and extensive experience working with young children.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other teachers to develop age-appropriate curriculum
- Prepare for lessons by gathering materials or setting up activities
- Read stories and lead children through letter recognition and number recognition
- Engage and encourage children to use their language skills, develop social skills and manners
- Monitor Children during playtime and physical activities
- Work with individual child or small groups of children to reinforce learning of material
- Enforce school-wide safety procedures, disciplinary codes, and rewards
- Supervise children in class, between classes, during snack, and play time
- Ensure space and shared toys are clean, sanitized, and orderly
- Document child's developments and progress to share with parent
- Patient and compassionate to young children's needs and emotions
Requirements
- Completed training at an accredited Centre - Diploma in AMI / OUSL.
- GCE O/L qualified with minimum of passes including Credit passes for Sinhala and Mathematics and GCE A/L with passes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Higher Qualification in Preschool and Early Childhood Teaching & Education is an advantage.
