Candidate profile:
- Be in charge of the Department of English, Teacher Development Centre and Cambridge Assessment English Authorized Examination Centre.
- Develop and maintain a vision for education growth of the organization.
- Oversee the implementation of strategic policies and work towards advancement of the unit.
- Continually asses the performance of the Department and its members and contribute to the modification of educational plans.
- Set and manage the Department budgets and expenditures.
- Oversee the Diploma in Primary education for potential teachers.
- Work towards effective dispersion of funds and periodization of projects.
- Plan, organize and implement English language courses of the Department of English
- Plan, organize and implement teacher development programmes.
- Administration responsibilities of Cambridge exams.
- Coordinate with teachers / lecturers, actively get involved in preparing lessons, and revise course material when necessary.
- Coordinate with teachers / lecturers to ensure that students' progress is assessed regularly.
- Interview students / parents and attend to admissions of the Department of English.
Essential:
- Knowledge and understanding of current developments in English teaching and also of relevant wider educational issues.
- An understanding of what makes outstanding teaching and learning and the ability to put this into practice.
- An ability to use data to monitor student progress and inform curriculum planning.
- An ability to put effective intervention in place for under achieving students.
- An understanding of best practice when quality assuring the work of the department.
- Superior attention to detail and strong subject knowledge.
- Degree in Management or related field.
- Experience relevant to the role, and have been in a leadership position.
