Founded in 1960, we are a fully-fledged, state recognized institute in Sri Lanka, incorporated in 1998, by Act of Parliament No. 44, without share capital or other commercial attribute, and have established a reputation as the largest, oldest, most progressive and innovative local Examining Board in Sri Lanka, conducting a record number of examinations island-wide, in Music, Speech and Allied Subjects in all grades including diploma examinations. Our syllabuses, compiled by highly qualified and experienced examiners, are in keeping with internationally accepted standards. We also organize programs in the form of concerts and competitions, with a view to encouraging young talent, and cater to the needs of the teachers of Music and Speech, by way of organizing seminars and work-shops island-wide.
