The Industrial Technology Institute is a wholly owned institute of the Government of Sri Lanka and functions under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research.
A statutory board incorporated on the 1st April 1998, under the Science and Technology Development Act No. 11 of 1994, the Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) is the successor to the Ceylon Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research (CISIR).
