I am Ranjith Gunarathne, your English teacher.
I began my teaching career as a government school English teacher in 1983. I received my training at the Government English Specialist Teachers’ College in Peradeniya.
Since 2019, I’ve been conducting online English classes for learners of all ages and backgrounds—not just school students, but also working professionals, housewives, job seekers, and university students.
My students come from all across Sri Lanka—and even beyond— including Sri Lankan expats and overseas learners in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, France, Japan, Finland, and several Middle Eastern countries.
In addition to teaching, I’ve held senior management roles in the private corporate sector for over 10 years in multiple countries. This experience helps me better understand the practical language and communication needs of today’s learners.
In all my classes, I also teach essential IT skills that are immensely valuable for both office work and higher education.
All my students receive lifetime Microsoft Office 365 licenses and Canva Pro access, completely free of charge.
I also provide Soft Skills training to corporate employees, helping them improve workplace communication, confidence, and professionalism.
To support your learning, I maintain a large digital library with books (PDF and EPUB), movies, TV shows, podcasts, and more. These resources are freely available to all my students to help improve both English and IT skills.
