UTS College Sri Lanka offers a pathway to the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) - Australia's No. 1 Young University - and is a fully owned entity of UTS.
We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified and experienced lecturers to teach the following units:
Diploma of Business
* Academic and Business Communication
This subject aims to improve students' current level of communication skills, academic literacies, English language proficiency and multiliteracies. Aligned with the other Diploma units, this subject focuses on developing the communication skills needed to complete assessments in those subjects successfully.
* Fundamentals of Business Finance
This subject introduces and develops the core technical and theoretical concepts of Finance and illustrates their application to practical financial decision-making problems. Both the time-value of money and financial risk are
Diploma of IT
* Programming 1
This subject introduces students to the core programming concepts using an object-oriented approach to programming, prioritizing project-based learning and independent research, experimentation and communication skills. Java and Python are introduced.
* Programming 2
This subject teaches students how to design, develop and evaluate software systems to meet predefined quality characteristics of functionality (suitability) and usability (understandability, learnability, operability, compliance). Software solutions are implemented using Java or Python.
Diploma of Engineering
* Introduction to Electrical and Electronics Engineering
This subject is designed to give students a basic understanding of the scope and methods of Electrical Engineering. This includes the engineering process, the technologies involved, the approach to problem solving and the skills and tools used. It develops essential skills in the areas of Electrical and Electronic circuit theory and analysis.
Diploma of Science
* Design, Data and Decisions
This subject introduces students to some basic statistical concepts and techniques used to support decision making in the life sciences. Statistical terminology and methods of collecting and displaying data is introduced as well as random processes and probability distributions used to model data in the real world.
* Human Anatomy and Physiology
This subject helps students develop an awareness of how the human body functions as a coordinated organism, as well as the importance of homeostasis for the normal functioning of different organs within each body system. The subject provides for excellent basic knowledge in physiology and prepares students well for future medical-oriented subjects.
* Academic and Business Communication
This subject aims to improve students' current level of communication skills, academic literacies, English language proficiency and multiliteracies. Aligned with the other Diploma units, this subject focuses developing the communication skills needed to complete assessments in those subjects successfully.
Essential Skills and Experience
Undergraduate degree in relevant field, a postgraduate qualification in a related area of study and two years relevant teaching experience at a university or similar experience. There are minimum English requirements for all positions
