We at the Discovery Centre understand that the early years in a child’s life are the most crucial. In our EduPlay programs we strike a balance between autonomy and structure in our approach to education. We play, we laugh, we talk and we learn. We focus on developing the “whole child” by instilling independence and social/life skills, academic skills, creative skills and motivation for lifelong learning.
Our EduPlay curriculum is age appropriate from toddlers to kindergarten and is theme based, incorporating sensory play, manipulative, art and craft, block play, music, movement, reading room, dramatic play, show and tell, storytelling, puppetry, cooking, science and discovery, early literature, math, gardening, water play, pool day, and field trips.
We follow the teaching methods and standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) USA. It incorporates all the important principles of the Montessori and Reggio Emilia Methods and includes new insights gained from the latest Early Childhood Studies conducted by American universities.
