The Computer Pioneers programme is a group of courses in Computing that enables learners to develop computing skills to play an active role in the digital world that surrounds them from an early age.

Programme Structure
For children aged 4 to 14, there are ten courses based on
the National Curriculum in England corresponding to Key Stages 1-3. For
children aged 14 to 16, there are three courses based on preparing
students for GCSE, IGCSE and O'Level assessment.
Computer Pioneers courses are designed to meet the differing needs as
children mature:
Workbook-based learning and practical activities to help
motivate learners
Interactive educational software exposes younger learners
to a range of subjects
Older children focus on more standard computer application
packages and languages
Computing activities/tasks or projects using latest
educational software, standard application programs/ languages, special
equipment and robotics
Contributes towards STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
& Mathematics) learning, to ensure that learners are digitally
literate and creative, to be active and responsible participants of the
digital world
Issues relating to digital safety addressed at all levels
Assessments
The Foundation year is assessed 100% by coursework
All other courses are assessed by 50% continuous coursework
and 50% paper-based tests
Key stage 4 assessments follow the same format of the
particular examination board
Qualifications
Students receive Certificates from Edexcel, UK, on
successful completion of each course year
Students who complete Years 8 and 9 have the knowledge and
skills to achieve the International Computer Driving License (ICDL)
qualification awarded by the ECDL Foundation
Holiday Programmes and Certificate Courses
Short courses with fun filled modules for learners of 4-14
years to be done during school vacations
Certificate courses in Robotics, Scratch, Digital Media
Publishing, Hardware Assembly and Networking, etc. for learners of 7-16
years
