தனியார் பட்டங்களும் NVQ க்குமான வித்தியாசம் என்ன?

Hi
I am a after A/L student. I want to be a Software Engineer.
NVQ level 4,5,6,7 in technical collage and the vocational training authority are organizing the degree at that levels.

Can I know the importance of NVQ?
What are the differences of NVQ and private degrees?

NVQ is just the names of each level like certificate, diploma, higher diploma and degree as I think. So you will have to go one by one to obtain the final degree.

I think the main different of these two is the cost you pay. :) Sometimes private institutes has good resources but nowadays you can find anything in internet for better learning.

But software engineer is not just a post you can obtain only with a degree. You should become good in programming languages and train yourself to build solutions.

The NVQ is a work based qualification which recognizes the skills and knowledge a person needs to do a job. The candidate needs to demonstrate and prove their competency in their chosen role or career path.

Academically, NVQs are work based diplomas (level 1,2,3.8) and they are equivalent to a degree in some levels. My personal opinion is that, academically, a degree is stronger than a diploma or set of diplomas in qualifications. The reason is a degree is more consistent than a diploma in every hand.

If you wish to apply higher studies in overseas, you will have less issues if you have completed a degree. Otherwise, you must have become professionally exceptional.

Therefore, depending on your financial capacity, you can choose to study a degree or set of equivalent diplomas.

No matter whether you choose software engineering or any other engineering field, above condition is the same for all as I believe.

After completing degree programm you are automatically equivalent to Level 07 qualification.
I recommended you to follow Moratuwa BIT or Colombo BIT. Our institute offers both degree programs. Both are relating to Software Engineering.
call if you are interested.

A degree is acadamic whether private or state university..it doesnt matter. But NVQ is work oriented..probably Diploma type. if you have the right will and attitude..and problem solving mindset then that's all that matters and NVQ or Degree can't do a much difference. However, following a degree is better in my opinion as you get a lot of theory and working background of software industry wheras in NVQ it's much more about pushing you to a job.

1-4 Certificate
5 Diploma
6 Higher Diploma
7 Degree

5 one year
6 one year
7 two years

NVQ is a low cost and high academic qualification compared to private degrees
Government recognised and skill oriented

If you have money you can go for a foreign degree. Otherwise NVQ is the best way to choose.

You have another choice. Go for HND IT at ATI Sri Lanka.
After completion, you can continue a degree with exception.
