என்.ஐ.சி இல்லாமல் நான் ஓ / எல்ஸுக்கு உட்காரலாமா?

Are there are alternatives for NIC that I can use to sit for O/Ls ?
If there is any, how should I apply.
I am sitting for O/Ls this year and I have a valid passport

Yes you can sit, by using your passport or postal ID but one thing once you used either passport or postal ID definitely you should have your original Birth certificate

You can sit for the O/L exam if you have a valid Passport or Valid Driving License in Sri Lanka. But according to new rules, you can't sit with your postal ID. If you do not have a NIC with you now. Best option is to produce your valid Passport for the exam.

You can sit the OL exam using a postal ID card which you can obtain within one day if you go to the general post office with the documents signed by the principal/dp.
You are also offered special service to obtain your NIC if you go and tell them that you are sitting for the OL exam.
As mentioned a valid passport too is accepted. Yet it is the last alternative. Best regards,

Yes. You can use your passport.

There is a method of issuing NIC in one day service which is not in action at the moment due to the prevailing COVID condition in the country. but I feel it will be better to contact the relevant department and get the instruction in applying and obtaining NIC.

yes, you can sit the exam if you have a valid passport or driving license

Proving Identity
It is compulsory to produce the National Identity Card or valid passport or valid driving
license by candidates at the examination centre in order to prove their identity. Candidates should provide their identity card to prove their identity at each and every question paper they appear at the examination.
If an applicant doesn't possess a National Identity Card, he/she should get it prepared by forwarding an application immediately through Grama Niladhari to the Commissioner General of Registration of Persons.

Yes you can use your passport to sit for the O level exam as it is another form of identity just the like your NIC. Hope this helps

Take your passport to the exam. that is it. Ask your principal if you are not sure

Comment author woman

Hope you are a school candidate and I suppose valid passport will satisfy your requirement and further you may contact your school principal for further verification.

The valid identification documents one is required for sitting any levels of examination in Sri Lanka are as follows
1. Personal ID
2. Driving license
3. Passport.
Passport is issued upon the submission of one's Birth Certificate followed by Grama Nila Dari attestation. And also, one can find one's ID number in the unexpired passport. therefore pass port is considered as a valid identification for any legal matter.
Hope this helps you.
