About the institute
sifu . Jayarathna started his life of Martial Arts when he was just
years old. In he learnt Karate and other Japanese styles like
Shoto kan, Budo kan, and gained his first black belt. His next step was
learning Kung fu, but as he felt it inadequate he started Jeet Kune Do
with great passion and enthusiasm. Meanwhile he watched movies of Bruce
Lee and absorbed the fighting techniques . He learnt Jeet Kune Do for
years while working as an assistant coach and winning many martial
art competitions.
In he started exploring Jeet Kune Do via internet. This is where
he gets into reading books like; Bruce Lee and acirc; Fighting
MethodsÂ, Jun Fang Jeet Kune DoÂ, and nbsp;The Philosophical Art of
Self-defense Gives Mature ArtÂ. In the year he went abroad was
trained under Sifu Mark Stewart, for his first Jeet Kune Do training.
There, he was lucky enough to participate seminars under Sifu Ted Wong,
who was the closest friend and the best student of Bruce Lee. and nbsp;
