The Automobile Engineering Training Institute AETI is a National level training institute established in November 1989 by a grant aid from the Government of Japan at a cost of Rs. 500 million Jpy 2.016 billion and functions under purview of National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority NAITA which is under the Ministry of Vocational and Technical Training. The institute is managed by a 8- member Governing Council approved by the NAITA with the concurrence of the Hon. Minister of Vocational and Technical Training comprising the Chairman of the NAITA as its Chairman and representatives from among the members of the NAITA, and representatives from the private sector involved in Automobile Engineering.
